What exactly is fun about build times as they are? What exactly about taking a longer amount of time (by maybe a couple minutes) would make me value my structure more? Why shouldn't we get something like this to reduce tedium? Should we remove the scythe because it makes me value my farming work less because I can mitigate most of the timers?

As it stands, I log in every character in my village to build houses, simply so I don't have to do it for too long. The difficult part of building a house is gathering the materials, not hammering them together. That part is just slow, and boring.

Lady V, nothing here says anything about reducing the time it takes to build. just the stamina drain. that is all.

Vigi if your going to cherry pick comments keep it in context please.

Ive played in large villages, as a hermit, and even lead a village or two. The one universal thing that has determined if anyone stays in a place has always been if they have to put time into their homes. If they are given a place or have someone build it for them 90% if the time they leave or quit the game. If they have to put time in to build it they usually stay and want to defend their work. I do not support anything that reduces effort in homes. Drinking to refill stamina may be an annoyance but it is hardly difficult. It also adds value of accomplishment. Now tot he comment you picked from another thread....it is hardly reality as it is so no it does not apply.

Reducing stamina drain reduces time by sheer fact you dont have to stop as much.

i am keeping it context, i am trying to question your beliefs and why you are contradicting yourself here. i was also trying to find a more applicable situation where you +1d a similar quality of life suggestion, but you post too goddamn much.

you still didnt define what about spending an extra 5 minutes alternating between browsing funny pictures and drinking to build again makes it fun.

i also find it ironic you go on about context before mentioning something irrelevant like people having their homes built for them. a builders hammer would not auto build (and fetch all materials for) a structure. nobody in the universe thinks idling for 10 minutes to build something adds any value, and if they do, well, they're just autistic.

Then you need to think harder.

This cheapens construction. I'm a hermit and this would benefit me more than most, but I don't want these kinds of items added to the game. All it does is cater to the lazy.

It doesn't cheapen anything.

It literally shaves some off an already tiny window of time.
