Qualities

Postby LadyV » Sun Oct 11, 2015 10:59 am

Alright this is a heartfelt request. Revert the quality system to one single number. Vitality, essence, and substance just overly complicate things. It hinder progress and to a decent extent fun. I am not a fan of stepping back but I can't say the new system is a worthy replacement. Hopefully Im not the only one on this.

It wouldn't be bad if there wasn't so many things that use geometric mean of all three qualities. Especially picks :(

I like many qualities. Quality grind is one of the fun things in this game. And now we have 3 qualities!

You dont have to have all the qualities grinded.
If your plants are high in yellow or purple, trade them with another guy with the green one and so...
If I'm not wrong this encourages tradings.

Also I must say that since I started playing hafen I've improved a lot my transactions with neighbours, while in legacy it was all about teleports and trading villages instead of a "natural trade system" like the one we have now.

Edit: In previous worlds i just traded once or twice with neighbours, and I'm talking about 2 worlds playing.

I love the multiple qualities, just so far wish there had been more done with them... Anticipating that happening.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

I don't agree at all. The new system is great.

It would be if you expanded specific q influences to everything.

Great system, as ErdTod said, it's fun to grind quality. You can always play World Of Warcraft.

This is the problem. I like the idea of one village being known for producing amazing weapons, while another is known for producing top notch armor and so on due to them each having different types of quality. But when you need all 3 quality types for almost everything (especially tools), the whole quality system just becomes too complicated and relies way too much on RNG.

I do agree, a bit more splitting on what the qualities do would be nice. Or maybe at least the highest is most important for a few tools like picks.
