It's not a proper suggestion, but I wanted to ask the devs how interested they are in wanderer content and start a discussion about it.
The central issue is this: the map is larger than previous worlds', but there seems to be fewer players than before, and fewer alts too, so we can't expect to populate a significant part of it. Terrain formations aren't predictable anymore and they're fantastic, and really nice to see. And rivers don't connect as much as in w7 so walking is the norm. This makes exploration an interesting way to play the game, beyond the traditional raiding, hermitting, or grinding inside a village.
The problem with that lifestyle is how vulnerable to griefing wanderers are. They can't build a palisade everytime they stop for a week to prepare hides, leather, poultices etc. They can't carry enough items in their inventory to make minimal living possible, and using a wagon to counter that is a bad idea because it can be destroyed while logged off and so on.
There have been some suggestions related to that, with tents, backpacks, improved pc claims, or even special claims for wagons. But I'd like to ask if developing the game in that direction is in your plans.
