Idea - Removing Tree stump gives 4 soil = quality of tree

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

not a bad idea but this would be worth gold end game.

you'll end up with a process where hardcore Q grinding villages will never hit a Q wall/stop.

since Q of tree will keep going up with the soil and wont soft cap it.
This will result a snowball in Q thats not good for the game.

We try'ed to slow Q down to a crawl. we do not want to speed it up again.
and let me remind you Tree now work on decay hits. if your town is not super active (what brings more decay hits) then youll fall behind very quickly

I gotcha, yea I had a feeling there would be something dangerous with doing this but man just some convenience with the soil digging on nodes would be nice.

Maybe if we had a different option other than dig, that would give us soil but not take soil away? Ehh I dunno lol, i guess its not that big a deal but yea thanks for talking about it guys. hopefully it can spark some relative ideas.
Ohhh that's how I make a sig, cool

is that actually how decay hits work? if so, it seems super exploitable.

I think he thinks decay hits don't happen unless the area where you have trees planted actually has the map loaded once in awhile, I don't believe this is the case. They are purely random as far as I know, loaded map or not. I could be wrong though.

Only happens while the map is loaded, loftar mentioned it when this came up in the past.

Areas that remain unloaded have significantly less decay hits as a result.

I understand the logic with this. Soil is a limited resource, that high quality soil node you found will run out eventually. But the method suggested isn't ideal.

Maybe make it so when you chop a tree down and remove the stump, you get back 2-4 dirt of similar quality to what was used to plant the tree.
