Please do explain to me how you imagine the skull suspended against the wall, presumably hanging off, indeed, the foramen magnum, facing forward, rather than down. I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but I am saying that I don't see the elegant solution.

With the jawbone present, the skull would settle at about a 45 degree angle facing downward, if hung from a peg or hook. Better than face in wall.
