K.O player, at this point you can kill the player denying em life OR tie em up with a rope.

The rope will have a radius. The captive can choose to move or not.
the Kidnapper and captive are leeshed together and need to move together if one stops the other will not be able to move far away from him, and in return will stop you once you move to far.

a mini game will show up, with a bar that both can see.
the captured can use a skill to gain LP. once he gains 30LP he can use the skill "break free"

the kidnapper skill will be gain LP then "pull" to forcefully move the captive to the kidnappers spot. (that include moving in and out of sceans like into caves and outta caves) and "Tighten" what reduces the captive LP.

the "pull" would be ideal for people who are offline and cant move. so you would just keep "pulling" em'
the "tighten" would be used to enforce your rule over your captive cuz you've already won the battle, and have nicly let em live for this bit.
the "break free" would be ideally used if your captive went afk or was unable to hold you while he fought something else, if someone aggros him the captive game should go away letting the captive get a chance at escape.

The lp system sounds very neat. Great idea!

Simply give the prisoner the option to bite their tongue to escape, should they prefer to reincarnate.

You are 100% denying the right of a player to play that game. While kidnapped, they are unable to interact with their claims. If you kill someone, they can inherit their claim and move on. While kidnapped, you can kill them at any time but their progress is completely frozen. They can't make a new character because they'd have to walk an alt over and they'd have no ability to add people to their claim.

Sorry, but I'm really against this idea.

There is solution, think a little bit. If you want to control your claims - create new character, and refer somehow to that captured ancestor, inherit his shit. You spawn at his hf either.

That is the form of kidnapping I would personally find acceptable. You capture that character, from the player's viewpoint it's dead. I mean it's kind of pointless though at that point.

Either way though, kidnapping as a game mechanic has only ever shown up in games that are horrifically known for griefing and it is only ever used for griefing. As a tool, all it does is empower someone to torment another player more effectively. I don't think haven needs more of that.

Seeing how reincarnation is only for respawning at your HF and claim, this could definitely be considered. However, I worry having players decide between suicide and hoping to escape is too much. Should allow for players to create a pseudo-incarnate that inherits the character's things, but can return them to the character if it ever escapes alive.

I don't think it hurts to have an option that isn't kill the character.

Kidnap yourself and spawn as many alts as you like in one place. Maybe just don't have the respawn at hf feature with the pseudo-incarnate.

Good point then. If the current "no spawning new characters at a village" regime holds, kidnapping isn't an acceptable mechanic then.

In all honesty, at this point I think we can conclude that the no alt spawning is more or less a failure. People all have alts anyway, it just took more effort.

This. This is the 100th thread proposing kidnapping and it always comes down to the people agreeing to it not realizing how this is going to feel on the receiving end of the deal.

Denying someone to play the game is worse than killing them. Even limited gameplay as a slave is taking away all the gameplay people are actually looking for. They will simply quit instead. Kidnapping is not something that can or should ever be implemented.

The point raised in this thread is that you could have some sort of pseudo-inherit so that they are not denied from playing the game. Which is an interesting idea, to me. Slavery is not really what is being proposed, I would oppose in game mechanics for slavery (since it wouldn't work) but it would certainly be interesting to not have your char die and give you the possibility of ransoming him or her back.
