New store item: Crafter's mark

Tied to a specific character (take it out of hf, right click it on character).
The mark consists of text chosen by the crafter from a list + a hidden function to uniquely identify the crafter.

Can be optionally added to the mouseover of items that character crafts. The character can describe their "hidden function"/mark to others, who then gain the ability to see if items are in fact "genuine" (i.e., you can tell if the mark matches one of the marks you have in your database of descriptions), and also get the ability to describe that mark to others (but not apply it).

I think this would open up a lot of possibilities, not just larping (named swords, signed artwork, etc...) but also
-coins as described in viewtopic.php?f=48&t=45013 (with the addition of a coinpress)
-advertising for crafters as their stuff gets traded further and further afield
-label your stuff so your villagemates know its your personal property (in non-plot villages or within multi-user plots)

The idea is to have a flexible system that leaves it up to the players how to best use it as much as possible.

I would argue this should be a one time account upgrade, sounds neat otherwise!

Yeah that might work better tbh.

I'd think a lot of crafters would be interested in buying them for in-game goods, akin to a lot of the token threads in A&O.

I'm not sure people would pay it for each and every item. If you think about it, items in haven get replaced a lot. If we're talking crafter marks, presumably the benefit would be in having your items known worldwide and etc. But if it costs you money for each item... the more successful you are ingame, the more IRL cash you'd need to keep stamping.

I dunno, just doesn't sit right with me. I wouldn't buy it on a per item basis, but I would slap down a reasonable (5-15$ range? 20 would be too much for me) amount of cash for the ability if it was an account upgrade.

Well, the way I put it was a character upgrade (i.e. whatever that character crafts can have the mark applied), which maybe makes it more tradeable, idk.

But why make it a store item? IMO if i pay for subscription, i should have access to all of the game's content that may affect my gameplay. I can understand paying for cosmetic items like hats/recently added sketchbooks, but like you said, this could affect a trader's successfullness, thereby making the game more p2win, which we all want to avoid, I think?

Well, if it can be bought from the store as a token, akin to gametime tokens, then it could be traded with the crafters for their goods, as was previously stated.

Sure, it is a bit p2w, but so is trading gametime tokens for ingame items isn´t it?

These marks would then give a permanent upgrade to the character that used it, therefore a crafter would only need 1, unless he dies. ¦]
