An idea for combat decks

Postby Zarxes » Sat Nov 14, 2015 3:18 pm

I think some of the current issues with deckbuilding, combat and that you are forced to make small limited decks because you have to guard against certain skillscould be resolved if you could dedidate your 5 buttons to either defense, offense or utility.

So here is an example. Of the 5 slots which are currently random you could make 2 defense, 2 offense and 1 utility. In in those slots only skills of that category can pop up after you used them. Also it would be cool if you could dedicate the slots to certain skill categories aswell. For example an archer would be able to pack 2 defensive slots and maybe 3 utility(we would need more utility skills for this) which would allow him to support from the backline.

I believe, that this would enable you to build more versatile decks while making deckbuilding and actually picking the right skills more important. This would also allow for more situational skills like for example steal thunder to be actually used.

as shubla said.
it's not a bad idea, but this would change the full face of the meta. what i do agree, is needed.
it does not really do much for combat itself however, just changes how we would play it
...I've thought about this idea a lot before in one of my 1st combat post.

Personally I find the current combat system to be totally retarded.

That being said I have a great idea to test such changes before the devs implement them to the entire world, apply the changes only to valhala, this way people could use their dead characters to help test this new system before actually implementing it to the entire world, would also give people more reason to visit valhala.

If the system proves to suck balls just change it back, not like it would affect the destiny of the world forever as say...a sudden massive increase in metal q? ¦]

Does it really address the issues with combat though? That's the question to ask.

Chop being the be all and end all of combat, lack of pen (most UA moves effectively only block breakers) are the real issues as far as I've understood it. And we've yet to really see how stupid cleave can get.

Cleave is quite funny...
Atm, because of cleave, the best decks (to my mind, anyway) are very small to be consistent enough vs green and red. Actually the combat system is great, it just needs refining a bit with more interesting and unique moves making more than 2 decks viable.
