I'd like to suggest features that would allow an underground village to sustain itself without access to the surface. It would evidently never match the quality of life that regular villages have, but that's not the point
That would mean:
. Reimplement cave water, or well nodes for lower levels. Cave water would be best because it gives clay.
. Allow growth of fungi or bushes as a low yield source of underground wood. I recall Sevenless, probably, suggested that we grow fungi inside mirkwood logs, since farming and plowing doesn't really work in caves.
. Allow cattle to be transported through mineholes. Alternatively, consider adding a new tameable underground animal.
