I'd like a variety of such objects, varying from parts of the ring of brodgar, shattered column heads, and other unique objects. A lore type of implementation would be cool, like the statues, in that they tell a story of worlds past.

Honestly, if it just provided a rather flat area of land for ez settling, didn't have annoying rivers around (assuming we don't get water terraforming yet), and made your dick look big because it's unique and would be cool to have a village idol on, people would build on them. Wouldn't need any sort of buffs for merely settling on them.

still waiting for this . . .
I have vague memories of tying a woman up and throwing her in a dungeon.

Nice.
A variety of objects can be unique.

Like specially shaped rocks (Sweet Hog Rock :D ), holes in the ground (Hell Pit), fluorescenting swamps, springs or geysers, rooms underground, volcanos etc etc.

I like both the idea of these unique things giving major bonuses (and make that a good goal for a good fight over unique resource), minor bonuses (like +2q to something of the same type placed on the altar nearby), or just aesthetic looks.
