L2 mining - WTB Tools

Postby Kelody » Tue Dec 08, 2015 4:53 am

Dropped a mine into L2 and got a message "very much too hard to mine". I am looking for a new pickaxe, anvil and hammer. I have 4 q10 pearls and 3 q33 pearls and a few other rare curios. I'd prefer to trade with someone south of the spawn.

I also have a barrel of q10 milk, 2 full troughs with q40 swill, a cabinet of q10 eggs that I'd take offers on, or for the above pickaxe.

BTW, anyone know how much more str is needed to overcome "very much too hard"? I have a q20 pickaxe and 100str.

Some practice mining has lead me to believe that "that one guy" that posted info on wall difficulty and mining ability was right, and very much too hard is around 40ish mining ability too high for you to mine. With a pick, your mining ability would be, say, with your given examples : sqrt(q40 * str100), as pickaxes count twice their qualities.

Means you have around 63~64 mining ability, so you'd need somewhere along the lines of 103-104 to scratch that particular wall. Keep in mind some stone walls are weaker than others, and you'd do best to go away from hardness nodes. The q100 pickaxe would be more than sufficient to break that wall, and an increase of strength can only help!
