Well, what burying will do is buff up your stats to the level where they would have been if you had inherited the corresponding total amount directly from the grave-stone. If you've levelled beyond that, you won't get anything further from it. (Except the corresponding LP, I guess.)

Added inheritance of character values. You now inherit 30% of your immediate ancestor's stats when inheriting him.
Added Grave Cairn. You may bury your ancestor's skeleton and skull, together or separately. Burying the skeleton returns 20% of the ancestor's stats, and burying the skull gives another 10%.
Thus: If you have buried your ancestor entirely you inherit up to 60% of his stats total. Known skills are converted to their LP cost and inherited as LP. If you have already leveled beyond your ancestor when burying him, you receive no immediate benefit from the burial. Anyone can bury a skeleton, and the heir will receive the benefit regardless of who buried the ancestor. Smashing an occupied cairn will destroy the skeleton.
Doubled the time it takes to Hearth home or log out, in an attempt to address this problem.

Though I really appreciate that one obvious issue with the game is being worked on (even though I'm not one to hunt people but usually the one to port away) I think that it's now the opposite situation.
With auto-aggro clients around - and we know they already exist - there's simple no possible way to save yourself from the usual roaming griefer (that kills just for fun regardless of who you are) unless there's a cliff or anything like that. Well, we'll have to see...
Besides that, thank you very very much for the new Death thing! I've always asked for a way to honor the dead and such, and this is amazing :3
