Will the alter still be in the new world?

Not sure. Depends on how it plays out and what we see. We might remove it and re-add it, change the mechanics, remove it all together, &c&c.

I kind of like it, though. I imagine the global nature of the catastrophe could force some fun PvP if it doesn't happen all the damn time.

My bad, I guess I imagined a clear no being said. It'll quite possibly tick a good few people off if botters manage to get it built and pop it in a few months. I personally don't think PvP is well balanced enough to keep one faction of subbers from restarting at will. It will be the ultimate form of PvP, wreck everyone's everything in one go xD

Yeah, but would the top faction really want to reset the world when they are the kings? So technically only the factions who feel they are loosing will try to restart then the big faction will come and fuck them all over leaving the world still going?

Also remember there are pretty serious consequences to crimes nowadays even with 0 soak value. It would not be good to have multiple banes after you just for the sake of bashing noobs etc.

Pvp isn't balanced well enough but everyone will realise that they kind of don't have a choice. They either do nothing and char disappears. or every player in the game bands together to take it down and if they die so be it they would of died anyway. :P
TRAITORS WILL BE SHOT.

Reyajh, I've read your post, and I can't fail to notice that there are still rude people here (I'll stay polite).

I for one am very pleased to see a new world, and even more a change in the subscription system.
Not that I wouldn't give money, but my work takes me away for weeks / months. At the end of the free 48h, I bought the verifed account, but left a bit after. Because that time system /susbcription was not adapted to my life. (nope I am not playing a single game with monthly sub, I just can't)

I'll have way more incentive to play if time is unlimited, and I only have to pay once I reach the limit stats, that's for sure.

The top factions are the people that play constantly and bot when they aren't playing. They reach endgame in a couple weeks and get bored and complain that there is nothing to do.

And some people just enjoy the rat-race. If those people are the same people with the capabilities to wreck our shit, and if the new siege/pvp mechanics will make it possible to defend the thing without too much trouble, we'll have some fun :P Also keep in mind this thing lowers what, wall soak? How about buildings? KO'd animals for the last 12 hours? People will find a way to troll everyone and proc a reset next time.

No, they only do that after they've killed the noobs and forced them out of the game. When noobs stop reproducing the predators die of boredom and the ecosystem collapses, only a few sad souls remaining online :D

Oh please, there have always been noobs I could kill if I wanted to. There were particulary annoying ones, who would build at top of my crossroads, disconnect them and etc. During the end-game no-one could be bothered by doing the "clean-up". Moreover, we have let a few noob villages in our area to live as well, without any parlay. And tbh, a lot of people who have been playing for worlds, do not find raiding noobs amusing anymore. The only people who got killed by me this world were the ones who were attacking noobs. That is where the real interest lies. The problem of the game is that other "predators" are unreachable.

I know that, you spared my char's life once, but that's just you and that's not necessarily true for the rest of the raiders, be they new or old, and not even for the rest of your guys. You can't deny that by now noob killing is a feature of the game, and you also can't deny that leveling hermitages of players who just arrived at the game and don't know how stuff works is harmful for the player count. People who kill sprucecaps who are struggling to make a cornerpost don't have the right to complain about lack of interaction and low player count.
I was looking forward to the kingdoms update, which would give people a reason to let random noobs live, but I suppose that'll never happen.

I don't deny that. I don't think there should be any kind of walls in the game, just some props and a reworked crime system. And I'm sure it's easy to be a badass predator when all one does is attack people who are weaker than them.

Assassins, etc...
When there are repercussions, it tends to level the playing field.
