I get that you don't want annoyance, and that's valid and all, but should the character really be able to jump up mountain faces?

Should height never matter for anything?

Not harder, more tedious.

i didn't say it would make it harder. i said it would make it worse.

look if you want to add mechanics for it, fine, personally i don't see a gameplay benefit.

just don't make it like the climbing mechanics in salem.

There could be some cliffs that you cannot jump up, or have their own mechanics but applying that to all cliff faces would be tedious with how often you have to pass them.

I think Jorb&Lofty should dedicate their energy and time on more important mechanics like putting auto-studyers out of business than cliff mechanics

mechanics can stay the same, but at least make it a climbing animation, far more interesting to see your character climb up the side of a mountain than waiting till the jump animation finishes in slow motion.

i agree, it should at least take stamina to climb over a cliff above a certain height.

Although i also think there are more important mechanics to work on. Its not exactly game breaking.

The problem being if you 'fix' it, no doubt it will take 20 minutes and 5 buckets of water to scale ... :P

Personally, I vote for no change in the animation, even if you add a stamina cost, it's fun and running up and down cliff faces makes me smile, pls don't make it boring like in Salem. :(
