I wouldn't mind them. :)

Then I get another animal to run from in the woods.

It should get added eventually im sure, it makes no sense it did not get added yet.

In fact, I think it should come before trolls get added back to the game.

I think the reason wolves have not been added, could be due to packing issues.

Wolves are pack animals, and they need to roam in a pack.
You see deers are in groups most of the time but I believe that is just how they spawn, they do not stick in a group from what I've seen. Wolves would always need to stick in groups, if you aggro one wolf, the others should attack and follow suit.

I could however be completely wrong.

But this is just the reason why I think they have not been put in yet.

Could just import old herd code from Legacy or something for that.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

Could work, but also wouldn't.
The games far more advanced in structure than old hnh.

Even though old Hnh had herding, i'm not sure if that would work at all for the wolves.
Wolves are hunters, not a herd of sheep.

They should be given the ability to take on other animals, roam in packs and of course hunt humans if they are aggroed. Dropping in the simple herd mechanics from old hnh when the path finding was horrible and is still dreadful now will just make an entire pack of wolves an easy kill.

I can already see a scenario now where you aggro a pack of wolves, and they all run at you, in a straight line from how the path finding works as of now.

i would love to see a pack of 2-5 wolves that hunt together. when one gets low hp or just hit, it steps off but doesn't run away then circles and attacks again ^^
but low to medium health and decent attack so it'll be important to have armor and weapons to take em out. maybe they can be pets later on

but they should be named wargs :D

Wolves that spawn and attack in packs could be a good PvE option for the mid-game. I suppose each wolf would be a somewhat weaker bear, so hunting them would have to be a group activity.

From what I understand Jorb is hesitant to add new strong animals before animal AI is improved
