Text/ID based Kin System (Issue on Describing people)

Postby nathanlol5 » Wed Mar 23, 2016 5:38 am

Hello Everyone!!!
My Village is ever-growing with tons of players but we're having trouble sharing our kin's around!
Basically when we get a new arrival, we either have to remember all the hearth secrets of our village or describe about 20-30 Players to our new arrival;

i was wondering if we could add a PlayerID Based kin system, you know how when you describe a player to another player they get only the Username of that player and not much else but they are able to identify whom that player is, well what i was thinking of is having a system where i can place all my player descriptions in a text file and upload it to, lets say http://pastebin.com/

any new arrival could easily be linked to a http://pastebin.com/ link and he will instantly have access to viewing of all my villagers usernames after he migrates the data into his or her client

why do i need this? well my village military had an Accidental murder, basically two hearthlings bumped into each-other decked out with combat gear. With both of them freaking out not knowing who they were, they instantly engaged in combat. they only noticed each other later on after the casualties were counted :o

if that is too much information above, here's a more simplistic description: A permanent ID for players that can be shared like a Hearth secret like (Description button)

Are they really that stupid?

They're multiple colonies, basically not under the same settlement, but under the same leader
Basically, Western islanders and Eastern Islanders as well as some northern colonies from the main capital

Its abit hard to keep track of everyone

I think you can have citizen carry some identification card with them. Maybe mint coin with a unique name and give an item from this to each player. If one cannot produce this identification they can be a hostile unit for the time.

We've currently been utilizing the describe kin button which allows the player to partially give another the ability to see a nametag on top of the specified players head including the nickname the original player has set
example
"S.K.K - Lithia"
S.K.K being: Southern Kingdom of Kraven, (Kraven being our chosen name of the Capital Island)

we'd originally had couriers running and sailing between kingdoms handing out the latest player descriptions to the sub-managers of those area's whom distribute the kins to their local area's citizens

Describing a kin usually takes around 3-5 seconds per player, keeping track of everyone becomes a extreme time consuming task, hence previous accidental military patrol conflict due to new guards with outdated kins

Use a secret key word like they used to use in the army like 'flash' 'thunder' you could identify other villagers out and about but making your own incase of pvp encounters.

Either that or everyone supplies a hearth secret onto a list like on pastebin etc and when new player starts give them the link and they can go through and everyone's HS. Maybe use google docs though because they can be edited by multiple people incase people need to add alt accounts to the list. When people die they should always use the same HS
TRAITORS WILL BE SHOT.

Yes, BUT i cannot share hearth secrets of people i have randomly encountered with the "memorize" button via keywords, but instead a repetitive time consuming describe button
