Im not sure.
But there must be something to abuse.


If there was no penalty whatsoever, I'd just hibernate my horse whenever I log off. I only need my horse for travel.

But yes, being able to take a break without losing a lot of progress would be nice.

I did quit last world after I realized I was wasting all my limited daily playtime to harvest the crops to fill in the trough. Not fun at all ... I do support that animals could eat the grass underneath their feet while not improving in quality or reproducing.

Nope. They slowly starve to death even as they eat up all the grass in their feeding radius

To avoid abusing this (e.g. mass-stacking horses or cows in 1x3 grass pens), each animal should probably have a full unoccupied radius of grass. That would be fair.
