Whoops.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

It makes me mad that you're naive enough to think otherwise.

Take a sip of hot tea, wave your wand and chill out.

Just give it a chance ;-) Maybe it will work, maybe not.
Spoiled hafen community always look for some glitches to hurt others.
Getting locked inside claim is no longer possible afaik (distance between claims requirement) - somebody just can make maze. (probably some lost soul will find way to lock someone).
Thieves - cost of non-pvp.

Also we are starting shitstorm pvp/nonpvp again - not worth it :)

Anyone who thinks you can just turn off PvP in a sandbox game that was built around it without massive reworks of the core systems and not end up as a griefing paradise should check out basically any other sandbox that does that.
Arks a good example, my carebear mates moved off Non-PvP servers because it turns out that when you can't do anything against a griefer or their structures they can do some pretty inventive shit to ruin your day and you're not even given the option to respond.

It'll end up as a griefer paradise even with the massive rework. Those games that "don't look like it" are ones where there's a pretty dedicated GM team working to clean up and ban griefers.

Now that I mention it, I've actually only played one sandbox game even remotely similar to Haven that didn't have any sort of PvP, and the only GM team was a player elected body.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
