So I was able to craft straw hats and get + farming from it. Already crafted all gilding itens I have avaliable on the character that is able to craft straw hats... none of them gives +farming... explain again the part where you say "one ambition has been to make it so that the old equipment bonuses should be fairly easy to reproduce in the new system" please!

ok, found out feather trinkets gives farming... feather trinkets requires survival to be crafted... this is my FARMER... I never leveled survival on this char as hes only meaning in life is plant and harvest crops... now my feather trinkets are softcaped to give me a bonus that don't even get CLOSER to what a hat I can craft would give me before (with stats I softcap the hat crafting on 40. crafted a q29 using q29 straw, had to use a low q trinket on it that gives only 5 farming... my old hat had +8 farming... where are those 3 farming I lost here now?

Feather trinkets are give farming.

Ah, I think you and I both need to see a torch for one, and perhaps a candle too?

Playing with it more, it looks like I can just stick bear teeth and/or gluethread on everything with the only downside being a low chance of unlocking another slot. Interesting

While I feel like the system is a good idea for making clothing more versatile, I also think that the general sentiment as of right now is that it feels punishing to have to let a system depending mostly on randomness determine whether or not something that you have already put a lot of effort into acquiring will end up being actually useful.

Perhaps the system will show itself to be more generous down the road, but for now it at least feels kind of bad to essentially have to expect getting lucky or making the same item several times before you get a decent set of gear.

I feel like it will detract from the pleasure of actually making a new piece of fancy equipment, because the piece itself is essentially useless unless you manage to hit some good RNG rolls on the gear, and you become too preoccupied with having that thought in your head to actually appreciate the new piece of equipment.

instead of crying you could read the same thread you're posting on.
You could make some tests , and realize you now have more farming than before.
But eh ... I guess that's too much asking.

Yeah, I don't agree with having this be luck-based. And at the minimum you should be able to take off gildings to replace with others.
