I support this.

So the gatelevers are magic or something?

Yes, they're fueled by magic dreams. They work like dowsing rods, only with people.

Don't jump on me for asking a question, I was interested in your idea and wanted understand more about it. You want to do away with keys, fine, it would probably be better if the game did. You proposed using village permissions and gate levers as an alternative, I don't have any complaints. However, you leave out what medium would enforce these permissions in game and left it open for discussion. I wanted to further the discussion of your idea and seeing as the prior post to mine was 3 days old it looked like your thread needed to be bumped.

Maybe the "or something" at the end of my post set the tone of my comment wrong or because I used the word "magic" instead of "hearth magic", if thats the case then I didn't intend for it to be taken sarcastically. Besides that, I don't understand why you're so cross.

As mentioned in the other threads, this sort of change abstracts keys - its assumed the player is handing them out to the kin he allows, and kin are still carrying and using them, but theres nothing about the actual keys (besides stealing them) that is needed ingame. So then, no more problems that end up with a nonworking gate... no more hassle with inventory and storage.... no more friends stuck in/outside your walls... no more goddamn keyring requests

Is it the request, or the idea that bothers you?

I'd assume both since he favors abstracting keys altogether.

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

Unfortunately, that's just too fucking bad for Jackard. :'( Keys are meant to be stolen. Keyrings are far more likely than abstracting privileges.

I think the option to remove trespassing, theft and vandalism scents is ok. Assault, battery, and murder should not be removable.
