FEP has worked for years- but is not an ideal system. its a grind~
There is a lot of little issues with FEP
needing to alt at the start of worlds to keep main char fep in check
always eating the correct things noting else for your char~ (Warriors need to eat warrior food! grr!)
Having alts stashed up and feeding em necessary foods to keep their feps going-
The guy in the village is the DEX guy he must eat all the dex food! no dex food for you!~
A lot of times farming ends up being annoying task, eating ends up being a stuff your facefest. and you town mates blame you for eating all the food...what with this system still might happen....
anyhow~
food overhaul
~removal of FEPS and replaced with food give "8 hour food buff"
Only one food would give the food buff, other food would just be stam filler.
The buffs
~would last 8 hours
~can be removed with "berry laxative"
The Cooking
~Add a more complex cooking food system
The Table
~would give a bonus or multiplyer to the stats of the buffs.
~Would have the abilty to have a "course of food" what would allow you to stack a few more buffs together
The Bonfire
~extends the buff to 24 hours.

With such a system- anyone can have "FEPs" of another person. making food more valuable and guarded.
the "FEP" progression would shift to food "food progression"....
cuz of shifting "food progression" we'd would need little more complex system to "growing", "making the food" and "food course".
Growing
The world is already divided- all that needs to be added is areas like north and south to the values of food. making some food in the south better "stat" food and other foods in the north better "stat" food.

there should be more steps to some food, making em the ideal foods for some food courses.

Honestly the idea needs to be built on.
But honestly I feel like it would be a different change in the currently meta playstyle.
You can go away for a week and not worry about your stat's falling behind in a village.
you can boost a newbie in your village. and w/e.
This system only works more with stat caps & and more defined endgame (Mazes envisions (end game): viewtopic.php?f=48&t=51612) however.
