But I don't think her point is that you should be able to disappear from the face of map and never interact with another player again but rather the option to travel out a far distance away from civilization (and the criminals) is a nice option to have. I'm sure they still want to interact with any friends/neighbours/whatever, travel to markets, etc.

This video is very cool. Makes me miss legacy, even though it was shit compared to this glorious 3d world.

I especially like hunting in legacy. Sure its not that fancy, but its fun and easy.

Pvp is not synonymous to interaction though. In w8 I lived in a village 8 hours from the center, which was where everyone spawned. There were about 20 active people in it and it was the most interactive time I've had in the game since I started playing.

Also, this thread is still valid: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=52001&p=687895

A large map doesn't mean it has to be easy for people to live on the rim. There are players who make map exploration their main goal in the game and have fun just forming caravans with friends to see how far they can go or to have fun in the journey.

You seem to think that turning haven into a pvp arena is the only way to increase interaction, but you're ignoring that interaction takes many forms among the playerbase.

But let's be honest. Player count will only decrease from now on. Is it really crowded world right now? I don't think so. Yes, it's hard to live in a complete isolation, you have to see other players from time to time. But not too much and that will only decrease as people will sit inside the walls more and more.

As for PvP combat - I have seen a few bodies, at least half of them were unfortunate souls killed by walruses. Dunno about the rest. What's that PvP arena you are talking about?

Wouldn't it make sense to create the challenging exploration first and talk the bigger world after that?
