So basically the same grind as we have now, with the difference of numbers no longer going up endlessly but reaching a reasonable level and stay there as long as you keep the fire burning.

Even if it would be an easy task for me (which is not) - wouldn't go that way because of respect to developers.
Respect for the amount of work. But mostly for being brave enough to make this game so different from other MMOs.

I spent like 15 hours each day, with huge pleasure.
But...
I have nothing to do right now, I have village, I have farm, I have friends, I have everything and it`s fucking boring. I feel this huge gap between me and other players, who plays from the beginning, I know that i can`t be cool, like they are. I can go to CF and by shit that I can`t craft, it`s making my life in game useless. I can buy everything.

Your idea is wonderful.

People are stupid.

There are several games out there that are "copy cat" games (ie the devs "know" they're either copying or at least borrowing heavily from Haven... mostly the ones that will ignore the "this is like Haven" and either try to ignore or ban the poster for it) and the ones that are taking great inspiration from Haven (devs acknowledge Haven and discuss the influence of it on their game design, but the game does appear to be significantly different enough to be its own thing).

The devs have stated they would like seeing such things. It means that they have inspired others to go out and see what part of the overall vision of Haven was liked and disliked, and that they were the muse behind it. I'd have to dig for a quote, but jorb has said that a lot of his inspiration was from Unreal World that has been in perpetual development since the early 90s. All good artists (and by extension game designers) draw inspiration and in some ways copy what has come before. It means exactly that you should use the parts of Haven you like mixed with parts of other games, art, and stories you like to create your own virtual utopia.

@Granger: thanks for answering that "Why?" on page 1. I wasn't quite sure how to reply without digging up a lot of old posts or threads.

1. If you store food for weeks or months then yeah, and you can't do that early world, getting from 1 to 600 when your table and charisma arent insane isn't that easy, this is pretty much a catch-up mechanic for players joining late in the world.

5. you can always give your old stuff to your villagers/sell it on the community market

1. Catch-up mechanics? What for? Is it possible to catch-up?
2. Have to be blind not to see that.
3. It leaves no reason to dig up soil. Obviously.

5. So what? Still no need for another one. Still no need to make more.
6. WoW doesn't have permadeath. Didn't you know that? WoW is much different from this game.
H&h feels good because it's not like WoW.
Somehow you want it to feel the same.
Why do you prefer this game instead of playing WoW?
(and even WoW has a limit in character progression, and way more fair and balanced in terms of player competition goddammit)

It seems you only want things to stay the same because it fits you.
You don't like the fair play do you?
