Game Development: Boneyard Lantern

Postby jorb » Tue Jun 26, 2018 12:50 am

We've been developing, and here's what's new.

Image

New Implementations
-----------------------
  • Re-implemented something more akin(no pun intended) to the old kin interface/buddy list from Legacy, including an avatarview for Kin, and information on when the kinned character was last seen online.
  • Added "Lantern Hanger", alternate hanger for lanterns.
  • Added skeletons for Walrus, Wolverine, Mouflon, Ram, Ewe, Lamb.

Key Fixes
-----------------------
  • Hopefully fixed a bug by which integer overflow could cause some crops to grow awfully slow. This will not fix crops which already have the problem, unfortunately.

Small Fixes
-----------------------
  • Fixed a bug by which you could drop fishing nets in shallow water.
  • Fixed a problem in the spawning of Fulgurite. Reported here, among other places.

As always, if you liked what we did here: Support the patch.

Today's Patch Item, for the fair price of $10, is the "Barbershop Boater".

Store Description wrote:Image $10 Just the thing if you're looking to start a quartet of manly-men a cappella singers!

All Gold & Silver subscribers have been awarded the Barbershop Boater, free of charge.

Was it actually broken or are you just dramatically increasing spawn rate because of my complaining?

Bruh, I tried to tell you that this never happened. He literally turned to his computer for 10 seconds and then went "Oh yea you just dig for it and it drops." He never verified the code, he just "remembered" how it was supposed to work.

It was actually broken. I long believed that you were just being unlucky since everything seemed right with the code, but then I recently checked whether anyone had discovered fulgurite, and seeing that noone had I debugged it more thoroughly and found the bug. The thing is that I had tested the code previously with a much higher spawn-rate, but apparently the bug was non-deterministic (probably depended on the order of compilation).

How slowly we talking here? Or can you just add a way for us to destroy crops. I wanna return my fields to working conditions.
