It's highly subjective on the player as well as the level of animals. For example I can be able to take down a lvl 5 fox with 20 combat skills but someone that is not fluid with combat may have problem with the same fox with 30 combat skills.

(not to mention people may end up editing with inaccurate information). I will still update the wiki in terms of accuracy and details though and possibly link the wiki to this post.

Yes, that has always been the problem with guides on various wikia; guides are more personal, tend to have a point-of-view (in a positive way), and don't homogonize as well as other forms of info on a wiki. However, I would love to see the paragraph for each action in the wiki. Of course before doing that, we probably need to decide whether or not to have a page per action.

Not to mention my guide has opinions from this player as well as a few jokes while the wiki is more neutral tone. When I do the wiki, I try to keep my preference out and let the read decide for themselves.

UA and Melee are lumped into a close combat section already provided. If you are just starting off though, it is best to start as unarmed since you get more benefit from the maneuvers as well as worry less about IP. That is, unless your village has a mean of providing metal weapons already, then feel free to go melee. Just make sure to have shield maneuver up when the animal attacks.

For getting your feet wet, go find a fox. Since you didn't train your UA, you are most likely going to be sticking with shield. Use charge a few times to get some IP before switching to Dash to regain defense as well as IP. Once you get to 16 IP, use Opportunity Knock twice then valiant strike. I think I mentioned this in my guide.

Stay on dash while manipulating your maneuvers for a start. Death or Glory trades defense for IP with each move the enemy makes, Oaken Stance trades attack for defense, Bloodlust simply increase your attack but renders your defense only half as effect if they attack while it is on. Pay attention to then as keeping the wrong one on too long may cause you to lose, mainly Death or Glory and Bloodlust.
