Softcap on cheeseracks = (rack+tray)/2

I agree that it's completely retarded to have RACKS affect the cheese quality.

So true. Although our dear departed Onep would be pleased with the additional tedium, I have to admit that this system doesn't work (or even make logical sense).

Also agreed. This is the perfect little fix to make people happy with the test server/client rewrite taking much of your time.

pretty annoying change that compounded with the other cheese related nerfs to just be unfun

its workable, but its unfun

i think we could do without it, as it doesnt realistically serve any purpose.

If the stats/satiations change comes in, I could see undoing all of those nerfs too
the proliferation of automation is the rot of this game, with the next worst thing being the filth that plays it (you, probably.)

Leave it the way it is so my automated cheese setup is harder to replicate manually, and therefore more valuable

Cheese racks having quality adds sink for high quality wood, but also adds a lot of tedium. Not sure how it should be balanced out.

Tbh we don't need a sink for """high quality""" wood. Dunno about how it is now but when I still played (may? Early june?) I only built racks out of three or four generation old trees and or mulberries I had to clear from the silk area, and it was sufficient to not be capped. I didn't need to replace them for months, but when I would've had to I'm sure I'd have just opted to not, instead.

Hey I'm new and I'm not sure about all the mechanics and ingredients in the game yet, but I have a suggestion

Perhaps adding extra ingredients or different step for making cheese? Such as using cheesecloth for an example, that can act as a quality indicator instead of the rack. Another thing could be soaked bark can be added to control humidity for the cheese, this could be affected by the water quality for the soak.

I do think it's dumb that the rack can affect the quality, although I have not dove into making cheese myself yet.

This has been 100% automated. I am one of those who benefits from the automation, but I care enough about the game to want it gone.

@Jorb I think cheeseracks having quality is a prime example of (one of) the reasons why everybody outside of large villages is weak as frick this world, in spite of there being a decent number of nobodies with 5k/10k/20k attributes last world. The hurdle presented to people without automation is giant, but the hurdle presented to people with automation is tiny. It's exactly like needing absurd amounts of pepper, except non-botters can't just buy cheese racks at CF. [insert rich get richer smh meme]

Please revert this. It's certainly not the only change that's keeping the peasants down lower than they need to be, but it's significant
