Game Development: Provincial Oven

Postby jorb » Sun Apr 18, 2021 10:42 pm

We've been developing, and here's what's new.

Image

New Implementations
-----------------------
  • The world map can now display province borders with a toggle. Are you as excited about not marking province borders manually as I am?
  • Added a mechanic to fuse "Gilding Rocks" and "Gilding Leaves" with others of their respective kinds. Hold a Gilding Rock/Leaf, and right-click another one. You have a 50% chance per value and item to retain that value in the end product. If you fail completely, you always retain one value chosen at random. Inspired by this.
  • Added a new wound "Swamp Fever".
  • Added "Snake Juice", medicine. Treats Adder Bites and Swamp fever.
  • Added "Adderfang Amulet", amulet made from adderfangs.
  • Added "Adder Skeleton". Adders now give one Adder Skeleton, rather than two generic Bone Materials. Not good for anything particular yet, but it seemed cool.

Key Fixes
-----------------------
  • Added variable materials to "Meatgrinder"s. They now take color and texture from the materials they were made from.
  • Added variable materials to "Oven"s. They now take color and texture from the materials they were made from.
  • "Dugout"s and "Coracle"s may now traverse swamp biomes. Suggested recently here.

Small Fixes
-----------------------
  • "Crucible"s are now significantly easier to destroy.
  • Fixed a small text issue in the text for "Jellyfish Sting" wound.
  • Galena should no longer produce lead without quality.

As always, if you liked what we did here: Support the patch.

Today's Patch Items, for the fair price of $9, is the "Hat Against Time".

Store Description wrote:Image$9 Always on time, always late, and ever fleeing the time passing.

All Gold subscribers have been awarded the "Hat Against Time", free of charge.

In the Pipe
-----------------------
  • The first Realm has been founded, and we congratulate its founders. A full writeup on the Thingwall mechanic is underway.
  • Again urging any custom client maker who wishes to stay relevant to get with the new rendering times. Support for the old resources will be dropped at some point.
  • Our primary development direction is toward object-controlled-objects.
  • Time to... like us on Facebook?
  • Time to... follow us on Twitter?

UPDATE YOUR CLIENTS... for province borders display.

Enjoy!

I approve of every part of this update. Where's the new bird though?
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
