Why do you guys kneecap every new curio right out of the gates like this?

Image

17 mental weight? 6-10 weight would be a good range. Idk why you guys always put stupidly high weight on mediocre curios like moonmoths/monarchs etc when the only people studying them are likely in the earlier/mid game and later game bois with 17 int to spare would never bother with this

It's a better example than moon moths, for sure. But I'm talking more about the easy to acquire curios in general. The INT values are all over the place and curios that could be nice for early players aren't worth it at all because it takes up their entire study

If it was that good q10 it would be good.

300 LP/H for 17 weight seems fine to me for a feather curio, assuming Pelicans aren't crazy hard to kill.

As if ladybugs and dragonflies aren't easy to acquire yet have reasonable mental weights

Things you can just walk up and pick as they float around are what I'd call nooby curios and should have low mental weights to reflect that

Swans/pelicans are very easy to kill and anyone with some MC moves could do it so I would also consider them earlier game, nooby curios

Ladybugs have a 3 hour study time. That means to study them 24/7, you'd need to supply 8 a day. Contrast the Pelican Feather, which you need fewer than 2 per day of. It's not at all infeasible to run out of Ladybugs faster than you gain them.

Dragonflies shouldn't be used as a reference point, as they're pretty much universally considered a top tier early-game curio. Not every curio needs to be a dragonfly.

Ok I went and found some better q pelican feathers and I'd like to shift my initial argument to not include these things, since they're actually decently balanced for their weight. I will study these.

I guess my biggest problem is moreso with the other items I posted examples of. It feels like most of the things that are accessible to new players have disproportionate INT requirements for what should be their niche
