Some kind of "labeling" system for specialty crafted goods of all kinds could be really interesting

+1 Seems cool and I don't see a reason not to have it.

Sounds very nice. I would kill for some 5-months-old wines, especially if their age granted a sort of bonus.

It would be nice to be able to brand water too, since most of high quality waters come from a handful sources with unique qualities. Like "Balden water is way better than Ikki better, but it's much more expansive too."

Before I know it you'll want labels for everything, in infinite capacity. Wouldn't mind, but future implications cause hesitation.

i turboautism locked myself intoo producing drinks in this game for 2-3 worlds now. currently making barrels of calvados out of q 100 apples.
there is certainly a lot of potential there, but there is a lot to be added, for the production to not be a total slog.

people have pondered the idea, of generally being able to write loretext to items, put on manufacturer seals. maybe name swords, etc. certainly something like that could be done with bottles of whine.

the problem is, that any "aging" mechanic in this game fundamentally contradicts the quality grind in this game demanding that you replace everything emmidately once its finished.
thats why saptaps are so stupid.

and wine already has the problem inherent to itself, as it takes so long to grow, that it will in most cases be behind in quality of its own wildgourds.

that would be most easily fixed, by making different tiers of whine, similar to cheeses, that increase their benefit, faster, than the quality of the next batch will surpass them.

but here we are at another problem: Time. setting up alcohol production , other than beer and mead, is increadibly time intensive.
wine takes idk, 3 weeks to grow, you most likely need multiple harvest for any significant amounts of wine /brandy,
pressing enough grapes for a single barrel of brandy takes 4 hours, realtime, just standing on the press .
and then a week of fermenting, possibly a day of stilling after that, for 10% of the liquid.

this results in quality wine only becoming a thing after 2/3 th of the playerbase has quit, for comparison, miners schould be on lvl 6-7

cider and calvados are significantly faster. and arguably more usefull in the satiations it buffs. but planting and replacing 500+ apple trees (thats one barrel) chasing quality, is itself a task, requiring laughable amounts of logistics or effort, and pressing them still takes 2 hours, assuming you have somebody frameperfectly refilling the press.

both these productions also, kind of expect you to make multiple harvests of your resources, wich inevitably has you producing sub top quality products.

the whole industry could benefit hugely from a bit of attention , maybe a windmill operated press, wine needs to be rebalanced keeping wildcrops in mind, maybe a creedo, as it would be fitting for a task, that has almost no stat requirements, but requires a fully dedicated player.

but i think that would require a rebalancing of drink buffs aswell, as there already is quite a bit of redundancy between them, and some drinks are objectively more potent considering what we eat.

just for reference, my current production:
