Pre-palisade defenses

I started playing quite late last world so didn't have to deal with much (or really any) attacks before I got my palisade up. Now though, my claim was robbed and the attacker made off with my tanning tubs, which sets me back quite a bit. What should I do to prevent something like this from happening again? Is the roundpole fence worth building at all?

If you have a claim, a fence will slow down some people as youll need vandalism to get through. Best bet if a little late ish is to make a base inside a cave with one entrance. Make alts body block the entrance of cave while you build up and get your shit together.

alt body block do nothing after introduction of "push", is it not ?

So put two alts next to eachother in front of the cave. push becomes troublesome, add more alts to taste.

What everyone I know does is we make 10 alts around a claim til it dries
