Prospecting on the surface

Hi guys.

I can't find any ores... using Rustroot Exctract Q24-28 most of the time on the surface (my STR is still low so mining below lvl 1 is still away from me) and it's showing me type of stone , but no ores at all... Do I need to go further away from cave entrance or the ore is less frequently appearing ?

Seen any pointer appear when you prospected ?

Take a look inside the caves to see the carverns and try to follow them from the surface and prospect (for less mining) further from entrance.

if you get no red circle around your player showing direction of ore, then there's no ore probably

try moving a couple maps away, until you get the circle

Issue is I don’t even receiving red cone which might show direction of the ore… using Ender client , maybe issue in that as well?

Metal in layer 1 is scarse.
Keep looking mate you'll get it

I've actually found it harder to find metal in layer 2 where I am.

Weird. I have about a dozen veins of cassiterite and one vein of lead glass on a 5 by 5 minimap plot. Move away, I guess.

Figured out little bit of this system, as far as I understand you get red cone if minerals (ores) are presented. If nothing in range of Q of extract you will not receive any cone.
When you see red cone usually there is 2nd smaller cone which shows direction to the ore.
So far found 4 spots of lead but no trace of copper or tin

Is this info 100% correct ? Because there is no info on wiki about it...
