Brand new, just wanted to know a few things

Heya, like the title says, I literally just found this game the other day. How is the solo experience?

YouTube videos make it seem like it would be pretty tedious and boring to play solo and when I asked if any villages were recruiting, the only responses were people who thought I was lying about being new?
So I guess if I want to try the game, I'm relegated to solo-play for awhile? Is it still going to be enjoyable, or will it just be grinding for little purpose?

Go for it. You are likely to miss quite a few mechanics without village support, and it is grind, but without village, you're not obligated to it and you're not screwing anyone by not doing it. Just learn the rules of how not to get killed and protect your base and have fun!

I enjoy solo and village play but both ways to play are grindy. You cannot escape the grind unless you know how to use bots. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages, which I honestly dont know if one way is better than the other.

Or maybe you wanna rely on other villagers to tell you what to do. If you end up enjoying this game, you may not remember anything other villagers told you if you return to play again.

Enjoy your solo experience, and learn the basics. The learning curve can be pretty steep, so just take your time. You can decide later if you want to join someone or not. I have always played solo, and I enjoy that way of playing. You will find your own way I am sure. Good luck!

I find the game most enjoyable to play as a way to relax for a few hours a few times a week. As a solo player, it's only a grind if you make it one. In a group, you have to take care they don't make it one for you!

early game is probably the best experience because it's more simple and intuitive, until you learn to setup a basic farm and palisade, chickens, tame sheeps, etc

fresh world is a gamble, before W15 changes you basically had to settle in a area of little interest, away from water, and hope no one knocked your door asking for hats

now the changes seem to imply players would want to live closer in the same Province, so they have better chance to keep the region free of siege, and the new pvp stats seem to try to incentivize that... however that's a long shot in Haven, things change a lot but they keep kinda the samey
