Spamming cornerposts to prevent/delay siege

haha i dont think you intended siege to be like this, jorb
What amazes me more than how light the punishment was, is how nothing was done about it ingame. I'm actually starting to think people are frightened that you'll do it again, so to protect the server, they work with you instead of going against you, all in the hopes that you will leave the server alone.

Whats the alternative in your world, that sieges go on forever?
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I don't think there's a really great answer, but it should probably involve the thingpeace being broken. Maybe whilst it's broken you can't extend or prepare for gate? It would make the wall spam at least a bit more costly.

On the flip side, siege bad and will never have a perfect solution.

Well, there is a simple solution. Simply bash all the corner posts, they cost 30 wood, and with high enough str, it only takes you about a minute. If sieging is too much work, don't siege.

you can permanently put a place in broken thing peace. If say a group of 50 players with faction level grinding were to get together or a number of bot. They could potentially challenge every thing well, as some already are doing; non-stop 24/7

Why not just follow the way archery towers work and have palisades that have been bashed/destroyed during a broken Thing Peace leave behind rubble that you can't build more palisades on?

Stopping people from doing stuff they might want to do for non-siege reasons because of warflags seems big gay.

Daily reminder that the claim shield system had like 3 easily fixable problems, whereas every other system has had like 12 unfixable problems
