That said, Jorb and Loftar, if you are indeed working in the direction of steam please consider opening a steam page for it earlier rather than keeping it a surprise. I'm not asking because I feel you are somehow required to keep us in the loop, I'm asking for pragmatic reasons related to a steam launch.
When a game is released on steam, there is a certain level of algorithmic recommendation that the steam store uses to advertise games. They will highlight your game on the front page of the steam store based, in a huge part, how many people have "wish-listed" the game. If you put up the steam store page early, we can word of mouth spread news that Haven will be getting a steam store launch and ask people to wishlist it when the game launches. As I've spelled out, this will give the game wider reach on launch.
With a little bit of advance notice, it'll probably spread virally amongst former Haven players (of which there are many over the years), and hopefully we can mobilize enough of that population to wishlist the game that it can see substantial free advertising on launch. The free advertising, one click ease of installation, can make indie games have small or large viral launches on steam.
They were not born yesterday. If they would seriously plan for steam then they would have known much more about it by now than you do. Chill out or smth idk lol
I gotta ask, with what you know now, do you still feel this way?
Lol yeah, his post aged like milk. Jorb and loftar were like a deer in the headlights during that stream.
We might lose our hats and verification, and their steam reviews will be the lowest possible due to their own incompetence. However, not all is bad, because the wicker picker is confirmed to be fixed on launch! huzzah!
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
