Market Balance (real)

Mega market villages that benefit greatly from bots and exploitative gameplay.

Small markets, in comparison, are better for the economy, less exploitative, and should be much more incentivized.

How can we accomplish this?

Make Barter Stands an auth-draining structure, and maybe there should even be a limit to how many can be built in 1 claim.

If a market wants to have 50+ Barter Stands and benefit from their ability to easily scam the player population by controlling prices and printing money to empty barter stands at will, it should be much more expensive to do so.

Maybe each Barter Stand drains a significant amount of authority, and a claim can be given a boost with a very exponential amount of experience and cost per boost to raise the limit.

The market dynamics in Haven and Hearth definitely deserve some scrutiny. I mean, those mega market villages with their bots are *so* exploitative, it's cringe.

Implementing a burden on Barter Stands sounds like a solid idea. Perhaps a rigorous auth-draining system would incentivize a more balanced and community-focused economy. Not to mention, keeping small markets relevant would actually enhance player interactions—lmao, imagine the possibilities if sprucecaps were thriving in a fair marketplace!

It looks like a lot of the serious ideas got flooded away by noidy shitposting and necroing like 30 other threads, so I'm going to bump this because I think it's important.

Markets have too much freedom in their ability to manipulate players and gain riches, and we've seen instances of markets like WB printing their own coins and distributing them amongst their village to empty stalls. Rosku and Okocim freely admitted it.

I don't even necessarily think that is horrible, I mean it would be almost a bit dumb NOT to unfairly manipulate your own mass market when it's being hosted on your own claim ... but at the very least, hosting a market should be way more expensive for the village so that the advantage requires more maintenance and manpower.

hosting a market is already too much expensive and is not worth, you have no idea the work is put in. -1

Sorry, I very much disagree here.

It's something that everybody from mass villages to small groups create every year, consistently.

I think I saw the WB people saying they will have a village market bigger than ever this year, so I guess it's just not hard enough.

In W13 Whatever owned two markets. It's not hard to make one.
