I produced a video guide for newbies to walk them through their first moments in Haven.

Next planned videos are a guide on personal claims and then palisades/base building.

Nice video, pretty comprehensive start for a newbie!

As an old player who has gone through way too many character creations, I'm not sure what a good end goal of a newbie guide should be...

Perhaps a leanto so they can store some things?

Teaching all the way to pclaim would be cool but pclaims aren't technically safe from theft without fences/gates which aren't safe from vandalism which then necessitates palisades which opens the base building can of worms.

As older players we normally just find that sweet sweet deep cave or rush boat building and get the heck out haha

My next video is going to be about pclaims and will also cover leantos. After that, I plan to do a video about base building (though the primary topic will be palisades, really). I’m hoping getting players a “safe” place to come home to will allow them to then learn the complexities of the game at their own pace!

I think this is the exactly right goal for a new player guide!
When they have a completely palisaded base, they've learned the basics - Plus, they can learn the rest of the game at their leisure.
