Does anyone know if when you transfer claim to somebody else it will have to take time to set again? Or is working right away

It can be transferred by right clicking with the bond on the other player https://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Personal_Claim

Tangentially related to this, if I move the claim totem later on, does it reset the 8hrs of the claim?

As far as I know you cannot move your claim like that. You have to declaim and build your claim pole at the new location. Basically a new claim. That is certainly possible, and not much of a hassle unless you do not have enough LP to extend your claim like the old one.

I've rarely done it, but I believe that yes, it sort of treats it like a new claim and it has to set again.

I know you can transfer a claim to another player, but can you transfer it to an alt?

I'm building a larger farm in a better location but want to keep the existing one (there's a road between the two). Due to a weird game mechanic all lp is split evenly among any claims in your study area, so my old claim, which is full, is still getting half my lp and only half is going into the new claim, which is only half full.
