Snakes? How? I've been afraid of her recently. Almost lost both of my characters on them

Shoot them, run away, shoot them again. We call that kiting. This is easiest done on a mountain where you can Sprint as opposed to only being able to Run.
Total misplay.

What happens when you log out on someone elses village claim?

You won't be able to log back in on it; it will tell you "unable to spawn where you logged out because it's claimed" and make you hearth home.

Running them over with a cart still works too and quality won't be affected by survival.

This is true and probably the best way, just explaining it since he asked anyway.

Tell me, I can’t understand, before the Q20 pickaxe was equal in strength and quality to the Q40 axe, but now? Stone axe Q36 or tinker's axe Q20, which is better for chopping, meat cutting, and mining.
Further, previously the water in the springs was not limited by survival, but now it’s the other way around? Where can I get normal water without decrease in Q from survival, in a well? No more options?
And finally, minehole, I can’t figure out how to build a gate. Guest, regular, which way they open. Do you carry the master key with you? Otherwise how will you get inside?

I think a well has always been the only way to do that, although I really have no idea if that was the case for wellsprings previously.

And finally, minehole, I can’t figure out how to build a gate. Guest, regular, which way they open. Do you carry the master key with you? Otherwise how will you get inside?

A minehole is 3x3 on the surface so it's the perfect size to build 4 large gates directly around each side, they should all be visitor unless for some reason you want at least one of them to be a normal gate (which you would leave closed at all times unless you're using it, but I would recommend they all be visitor). Underground you can do what you want whether that's including both visitor and normal gates or otherwise. No, don't ever carry your master keys around on characters you bring outside of your walls. With visitor gates you can simply leave them open and anyone without claim permissions would not be able to go down the minehole as a visitor.

Which way they open on the surface doesn't matter much, if you prefer that they don't overlap with each other build them all opening away from the minehole. If you like the look of the overlapping gates while they are open, do that instead.

Half of the first summer of this world has already passed. I wonder if anyone has already found marble on the surface or l1? The third time a random gives me a quest to mine it or chip it off. It infuriates me to the point of trembling

I remember marble not being on L0 or L1 last world either. I forget when it started showing up though.

The last time I played was in the world in which copper was moved to L2. So then there was a global chat and markets. And now for some reason this is no longer the case. And why did they remove it...
