He's right that it won't get anyone into PVP and most people will still avoid it but he is wrong that it will have no impact. Not getting 1 shot will have an astounding impact.

I've seen some "godlike fighters" turn into dogshit fighters when combat equalisation was added, simply because they wouldn't fucking open 50 red in one KITO.

I'm pretty confident there's a lot of decent players that would shine, if only they had closer stats.

And this isn't just about pvp, it would level out the field for industries a bit too.

I'm not saying someone who plays 16 hours per day shouldn't have an edge over someone who plays 2 hours max per day. But why should the 2 hours player be punished for HAVING A JOB, A LIFE, HOBBIES, etc.?

Not too mention that if we do allow such a gap between no lifers and average gamers we are encouraging people to drop things in their life to game which is incredibly negative for us as a species and a people... video games need to stop encouraging people to give up their lives for fantasy ones.

That being said my issue with rolling stat caps is if you put the cap too low then it runs the potential of killing the world the same as when we had a hard stat cap.

I wasn't necessarily referring to Hafen as much as I was gaming in general in 2024. An absurd number of games demand an absurd time sink these days.

100 stat cap will add more players to PvP, it will be available for many, plus less lethality over not so big stat differences. it would made world more alive.

now for >50% of player base this part of the game is none existent, they just hope they won't meet raiders and that's all

I'm not justifying things here for anyone; I'm stating my current stance that 80 to 90 player of the player base does not care.
Also does not really change anything for those joining late in a world~ only the start of the world player base. I'm sure you'll have words for that.

This could be the best idea for that last 10% of players or it could be the worse, my 2 cent is I honestly don't know.
I don't really have a point here, just letting my current stance be known that it does not really matter to me one way or the other.

It will not add more players to PVP... it didn't when the first stat cap was added and people can say 'item grind' but people didn't stick around last time for that and won't this time. We've already done a stat cap before and it was 3x higher than 100 and it also is regarded as one of the worst worlds we've had. 100 would be 3x worse.

I am not against the idea of a rolling stat cap but it needs to roll very high such that it doesn't kill the world. Something like a start of 200 and an increase of 100 on a rolling period of a month.

Or we take the better suggestion that was mentioned in this thread and make it so that there is a soft cap based on where the world leader is, and the closer to the world leader you get the more FEP softcaps you get with you getting less soft capped and more buffed the further away from the world leader you are.

That way the no lifers aren't inhibiting our progress but instead dragging us forward.

Idk about abilities though.

If the status cap increased by 5 points each day, life would be so much easier.
It would be truly amazing if this game allowed us to spend an entire day just watching birds.
