make it so that you cant remove armor pieces when you get outlawed from assault and murder
then make nidbanes take a % of your armor durability based on scent type
this way you can cause non lethal harm to a criminal

so just make nidbanes within your own village and then use them to break any armor that needs to be replaced

I guess you can also just give the criminal ability to just crush their own armor without nidbanes

as far as i understood it, nidbanes are in the same limbo as archery or non b12 non bronze sword weapons.

jorbtard have no idea how to make them work without them becominc cancerous and the whole pvp crowd flodding his dms.
so they are intentionally worthless untill they find out how to fix them, with low priority.

its a simple fix, just need tests to figure a good way to scale them based on quality, for now, they suck. A nidbane which can gives a good HHP damage, like fighting a moose at 200ish stats q100ish gear. They would be annoying but not OP and worth to send.

the problem is, that the people needing nid banes the most, cause they cant find back, is spuces, who dont have the quality for the nid to matter.

and if they are good at good quality, this just ends how it already was once, where after faction pvp, the loosing side, wins through nidbanes after the fight, or pvp just derailing intoo straight up nothing but scent baiting, or a cold war with nidbane icbms.

also, you need them to be basically uncheesable, or they will be cheesed, and some of the most horrible, unintuitive, spuce punishing mechanics in the game are the result of cheese prevention.
often resulting in more intricate cheese being neccesary, as the cheese preventions actually make non cheese tactics worse.

My whole point is to not make them OP as it was before, but to be annoying, thus the idea of rescaling. Theres no mechanic fix to enable spruces that wouldnt make factions abuse. Only thing they can and should do is asking others to intervene since most people would want free pvp.

Might as well add a little goblin or gnome that runs around and takes a few pieces of cloth and maybe a couple swan feathers from your cupboard, oooo your actions have consequences evil doer!!!!
