Punishement for criminals doesn't work - Nidbanes

Nidbanes suffer from the "Anything that can be used against a PvPer will be weaponized by PvPers" in W10 I think it was? Faction was using them to eliminate enemy fighters. They've been nerfed so many times they are not a real mechanic currently, but seeing what happened historically I don't think they're the right answer either.

"Anything available to newbie, a "tryhard" can also use, and be more effective." -some alleged quote from EVE players after in response to devs adding something

Also, Nidbanes, Homgang, and Salem's "stocks" system all suffer from the sane fundamental issue that Sevenless described - they have to either be practically useless, or they make the PvP meta revolve around them.

Thats why we need a punishment mechanic that doesn't touch the character but their gear.
The increased durability loss will also add value to materials used to craft the gear.

Issue is in haven gear isn't expensive. What's expensive is being able to craft it in the first place. But once it's possible, you can (and do) basically print gear at little cost.

Big part of why markets are such ridiculous ripoffs. People are selling trash (to them) for tokens.

More material sinks are good for the game.
Just the idea that noobs who some people grief could chip away at their gear would deter some of the mindless killings. If not then at least the victims would feel better about being able to do some damage against otherwise untouchable enemies.

Nidbanes doing exclusively nidburns as damage would make them a danger but still pretty passive IMO, and make it so alchemy cant heal nidburns.

Easy fix:
1> scents capture a copy of perpetrator skills
2> nidbanes damage is proportional to the ratio of geometric mean of UA/MC/CON/INT skills as perpetrator/victim: the lesser is victim compared to the attacker - the harder nidbane.
3> Limit nidbanes sent to a perpetrator by type of crime: murder x10, battery - x5, vandalism/theft - x3.
3> This will fix killings and abuse of benign sprucecaps which is out of hand this W16 (let nidbanes be lethal for worst crimes).

yea, I think this opnock tactic was not needed. Probably 3x QB + FC should kill one.

Even more funny - I should aggro both at once and use punch them both + fc

Unironically not a bad idea

Nidbanes should sap your soul over time instead of actually attacking you outright, causing you to slowly die from your conscience eating you alive. Also remove the quality factor because it genuinely doesn't help the people who most need a nidbane's assistance, little billy sprucecap wont be making a q100+ nid if he even finds a mandrake in the first place.
