Actually, I had destroyed my hearth fire so that I could spawn in a random place in the wild. Afterwards I never really saw reason to build a new one

If you want to complain about "not being able to know that", why don't you go find some of the people who were there when it was first implemented.

The Wiki had no mention of it. I had no way to learn about a subject that I didn't know existed.
