Weird, I don't see any mention of you in the logs... I'll check more closely later, it's 4:30 am here, going to sleep firstGotrek64 wrote:yeah ran your v1.3 uploader twice now made a 16mb file or so each time and I think it uploaded it successfully but i dunnoMqrius wrote:Are you uploading as Gotrek64?

Edit: Wait. Try deleting the db file that keeps track of stuff already uploaded. Maybe it was uploaded when I was running world map 3, and now it's not re-uploading.
Oh, sounds niceGedrean wrote:So glad to see you still exist man! Now there are three maps - two that have gotten some progress over yours but yours had some of the cleanest maps -- though one of them runs real smooth, don't recall which.
Anyhow, glad you're alive.

This is getting to be a horrible mess with all of these different maps now.
Alger's has worked quite well so far for me, although I eagerly await the move to Google. I don't give a flying fuck about a high scores list, but a numbered grid would be nice to have as well.

oooh overlapage already
also seems only part of my mapping data has uploaded/appeared the uploader doesn't seem to recognize the 3 SGs of mapping data i've done...
seems the uploader gets to about 3-4% and then has an error or something and quits having an issue trying to print screen the error to see what it says...
"Traceback (most recent call last):
File "(string)", line 230, in (module)
NameError: name 'img' is not defined"
those are the last 3 lines that appear in the uploader before it closes...

Mmm, you could try to split the upload into smaller parts. I know that would be a drag. But considering the source (uploader) is online ... there is no reason for Mqrius to take a look at it. (he might, but thats his call. I might to ... but ... well ... maybe.)Gotrek64 wrote:... the uploader gets to about 3-4% and then has an error ...

Of course. Old world maps from the previous worlds are a good reference in order to get a glimpse of the history and political environment. I think that gathering information about the history of the game can be quite an advantage, especially for newer players. It's also helpful when you can look up a map and easily view the names of the different villages in order to get a general idea of the political environment in order to avoid confusions later on (such as thinking so-and-so village was raided in world 3 when it was really raided in world 2).Of course I did It's just not publicly available anywhere at the moment. Is there any interest in it?
EDIT: Excuse me for this garbled message. It's rather late, but I think you'll get the idea of what I'm saying.)

Just a general idea. A full final map of world 3 could be dropped into one of those image-zoom sited. (but that has some limitations of course.)
(I see what I might can do from here with the available data I have.)

Don't lose the W3 map !!!!
Someone save it! =P
Also agree we should have a map with grid system & village names, alg's is good, except it has no grids, and no tags.

For like, 3 days, until a clear main map emerges, and I'll put that as default.cobaltjones wrote:This is getting to be a horrible mess with all of these different maps now.
It looks okay, yeah, although it's slower for me than my own local map, but that's obviously because my machine is sitting next to me on my desktopcobaltjones wrote:Alger's has worked quite well so far for me, although I eagerly await the move to Google. Ah, yes, I see the problem. My fault (mainly), sorry. When an image is broken (only downloaded half or whatever), my uploader is supposed to ignore it and move on. But in the ignoring I used the wrong variable, making it crash there instead of continue. Grab a new version which should work here: http://havenmap.student.utwente.nl/Uploader/Gotrek64 wrote:also seems only part of my mapping data has uploaded/appeared the uploader doesn't seem to recognize the 3 SGs of mapping data i've done...

(Not sure if you'll have to delete the database file. I think not, but if it doesn't work, try it anyway)
Right, makes sense. To be fully comprehensive though, one would still want to take out the mismatch, and add everything that was uploaded afterwards, like Gotrek64's new SGs.Sarchi wrote:Of course. I can do a few things:
- Put up the map as it has been for the last month, at a different URL.
- Share the map data, with the uploader usernames removed. Combined with the source for the matcher, anyone could complete the map. It's 10 GB though. I could just host it, but if more than ~15 people are going to download it, I might get into trouble. Both megaupload and mediafire don't support such large files. Perhaps I could turn it into a torrent or something.. not sure how that works.
I have no problem with hosting it myself, really. I'll just drop it somewhere right now and edit the link in in a minute.mvgulik wrote:Just a general idea. A full final map of world 3 could be dropped into one of those image-zoom sited. (but that has some limitations of course.)

The village names are a pain. They were manual in world 3, and I couldn't come up with a good automated system...Wolfang wrote:Don't lose the W3 map !!!!
