Unreal World is kinda like it, but single player and more emphasis on the cabin/hermit/hunting survival aspect. If you're looking for something to mess around with for a few hours, the trial should be more than enough to take a stab at figuring it out.
I saw another half-completed survival game once that was set in the 1800s french canada, but I forgot the name of it and I can't find it by searching.
Ice troll tribes was the first, and the best. Due to its difficult play compared to Island, and Jungle. Jungle was too large for a max of 12 players, and Island made it to easy where you could just sell tons of low brow stuff and buy a steel axe within 15 minutes. I would know I did it on several occassions to many people, including the Clan that made IsTT.
Ahh, the good old days being apart of the Ice Troll Tribe clan. If any of you go back and play it, check out the name of the wolf next to the Mammoth in the center of the map.
PS; Kyxoan. wasn't very good at playing his own map, my victory is what solidified my incorporation into the map even though I hadn't achieved Shaman position in the clan.
Edit, this has made very nostalgic... Who wants to play a Priv game while the server's down? XD

Islands Troll Tribes is rather fast paced compared to the other versions.
The problem with Troll Tribes is the learning curve, making it pretty hard to get into for the avarage below-average person.
Also too unappealing for most people that they'd have to invest some time and will to learn the game.
Jungle Troll Tribes you were playing for yourself most of the time, kinda. - had more of a Jurrasic Park Survival feel to it.
Jungle had a lotttttt more diversity to it with going down complex items and rare resources, not to mention the "quests" and "boss" monsters they added towards its end. I admit it did have a Jurrassic park feel to it, being that you didn't truly need your whole tribe to survive.
Ice trolls had it to where if one person knew the game very well, knew how to raid, and knew how to hide then they could out class an outnumbered team. But even then it was some rare cases.
Island did good with the classes, giving very good pluses and minus to each one. The only issue is that the "Stores" made it where you could still solo with ease, especially in the mid-versions as the Physical 2nd level Thief class. I'd done several games as one against full teams of 4 on each of the other three teams.
Now there was a game I really enjoyed that came sometime after Troll Tribes, Shamanism. Pulled a lot from Tribes but still keeping it diverse and difficult, as well as complex. An added "Spirit world" to go when character had to sleep made for some interesting conflicts between tribal spirits.

Don't have either unfortunately, but I -do- still have the map. If you have the game I'm messing around on US East atm since the server is down, wouldn't mind hosting it.
