Why would anyone steal from their own village? If Guy #1 has something you want, ask him if he can give it to you or at least share it. People are usually nice enough to their village mates to share freely.

But that's not even niave, that's just how a functional society works. Internal theft is bad for everyone.

It has nothing to do with naivety. If everyone went around stealing from each other in a village, how can it even be called a village?
