I'm not talking about shovels here. Shovels increase the speed of projects, and don't affect the stamina drain.
As I've said I'm not even asking to lower the stamina drain; I'm asking to lower the threshold when the action is automatically cancelled, because this causes uncessary waste to the player on what is already a very tedious task.
Edit: basically, the threshold saying that you can't perform this task cancels the task already in progress, even if the task in progress is 90% completed. That's waste, pure and simple; and most other actions do not have this... they either have an extreme threshold (5% or 0% stamina), or they have a high threshold that prevents you from starting the task if the task itself would drop you.

Re: Lower plow field Stamina threshold to 10 or 15%
And would lowering the threshold fix the problem with plowing by hand? No, it wouldn't. The problem is that you can start to plow and you stop once you hit the threshold, even if you could have finished plowing. As I stated in my first post here, the simple (or maybe not so simple from a code standpoint) fix is to not let you start if you don't have enough stamina to finish and if you do start, then get a plowed tile just like with mining.
I'm not playing right now (got busy playing Entropia and the post crash lag was driving me bonkers), but if I recall right, it's 25% to hand plow a tile. That means 25% is the minimum threshold it should be set at unless what I propose is implemented. Granted, the only reason it shouldn't be lower is that you can't finish the job started.
Personally, I put this as a bug at a pretty high priority, but the devs most likely don't as people use it to burn stamina. Any real plowing that needs to be done gets done with an actual plow.

also, "plow field" should not work at already plowed field. should not work at floors in a houses, should not work at stone tiles, etc.
all of this are bugs, not features.

The Plow Field action? I never said a single damn thing about lowering the stamina drain of it. But people can't seem to read on this forum.Mateusz_Zboj wrote:Lolwat how do i dump stamina for fepping then?

Let's break it down for those who STILL don't get it, in a few easy steps!!
- Turn on your client.
- Start wherever (Where you logged off/hearth fire/I don't care)
- Find soil, whether this be forest, grassland, heath, or moor
- Make sure your stamina is at or near 100%.
- Go to Adventure Tab.
- Click on Landscaping.
- Click on "Plow Field."
- Plow Field.
- Move to next tile, then goto 6.
THAT'S what we're talking about, folks.

Re: Lower plow field Stamina threshold to 10 or 15%
The problem with this is that it takes about 25% stamina to plow by hand if I recall correctly. Even if you have 35% stamina, you can start but won't finish. Still run into that same problem. What needs to be done is what I suggested above (and I'm sure others with more experience in this game have said the same thing). Why do I feel like this is being completely ignored?Jeebus wrote: Observe the number of times you can do this in a row. More than likely, you can do this twice, and then, on the third tile, just when you think you're going to finish plowing that tile (according to your timer bar), you crap out and say you are too tired to plow, and all that effort on plowing goes to waste. This happens because stamina drops below 30% just before you finish the plowing sequence, and we're saying if you lower the point you are "too tired to plow" to 20-25%, then maybe you can finish that third tile, and all that effort and spent stamina will not have been for naught.

Re: Lower plow field Stamina threshold to 10 or 15%
Yeah I did more research on this and found a weird cause to this problem: you can not drink over 100% stamina; so often when you drink you'll not have an entirely full bar of stamina, more like 95%-98%. This makes it so doing 2 plow tile actions, you'll wind up with under 50% stamina. With the threshold at 25%, you have to have 50% stamina or higher to perform this action on a single tile.
Because of the threshold cancelling a current task, you have to essentially have double the stamina requirement of the task, to perform it.
This is the problem I have with it, not the stamina drain itself. 48% stamina is easily enough to plow a tile, but since upon completion of the task you'd be at 23% stamina, it stops you at 25% and resets the tile you just spent nearly a quarter of your stamina working on. Why? It doesn't protect anything.
My original post in this thread suggested 10 or 15% stamina mark as the threshold to cancel the task, and upon further reflection, this might be a little too extreme -- at the time I was thinking the threshold was around 20% and that the task spent 20% of your stamina. Since I'm more aware of the actual numbers, 20% threshold would be more than fair, and balanced. You'd still need 45% stamina to perform the task, but it allows one to perform 3 actions off a "full" stamina bar, instead of being denied that rightful 3rd action because of a slight % difference.

Re: Lower plow field Stamina threshold to 10 or 15%
I'm gonna bump this because I got canceled handplowing a tile in my degraded dirt road when I still had 29% stamina. What nonsense. I mean digging a stump it doesn't cancel at the end unless you're completely drained, why won't it let you finish plowing a tile you've more than half complete?
The main grievance here I have with this is you can't push a plow to repair dirt roads, so maintenance of them is practically impossible because of the tedium of this. And there is no reason to have the threshold be so high for it, or how the threshold limit cancels the action in progress (even when the action is just about finished). Many other working tasks like that won't cancel the action outright unless you have critically low stamina, or if the stamina level for an action is higher, it will only cancel if you try to start the action with low stamina.
So again I suggest that the threshold be lowered, or if the 25-30% threshold is kept in place, that it doesn't cancel an action but only prevent starting a new action at that stamina level.
