Markus awoke among a good number of trees. He layed there stunned for a moment, and then sat up and looked around. not to far from him was a fire, but it was not a normal fire, he realized. It glowed a deep green color instead of orange or red. Mark grunted in an effort to stand up, and walked over to the strange fire. It gave off no heat, and the wood on which it burned did not seem to be charred in the least. This fire was certainly odd, Markus thought, but yet he felt a strange tie to it. like it was... part of him. After a few moments of staring at this strange fire, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him, and turned just in time to see a fox scurrying away from whatever had startled it. As he watched, markus's eys cought on to a strange item in the roots of a nearby tree. Deciding to figure out what was inside, he started to walk towards the tree, only to stop and look back. Leaving this fire for long probably would not be a good idea, he thought, and made a mental note of its location. Again he started to approach the tree, stopping again to look back and make sure the fire was still within eyesight. Once he reached the tree, he spent a few minutes preying the basket from the roots. It seemed quite crude, made only from some interwoven sticks and branches. He removed the top and peered inside. two pine cones, a small, crude stone axe, a rock, and a glob of what he hoped was mud. Markus removed the stone axe and studied it for a moment. it was small, more of a hatchet, easily swung and handled with one hand. He swung it around for a few minutes, testing the weight. the head was a heavy stone, it seemed to be fassioned on well. one side of it was long and sharp, and the other was rough and flat. He carried it back with him to the fire. There was the remains of a nearby tree, the long trunk laying peacfuly on the ground merely a few meters from the fire. Markus took his axe and slammed the sharp end into the trunk, wedging it a good two or three inches into the bark and wood. Then sat down beside it, contemplating what to do next.

some more i typed up, if yall are interested
Markus must have dozen off, because when he came to it was nearly dark. He stood up and stretched. It was nearly night, the sun merely peeking above the horizon, however most of the light was blocked out by the thick udnerbrush and tall trees. Mark felt a deep rumble in his stomach, signaling that it was time for him to find some food. He ventured a few steps from his fire, being certain not to lose sight of it, in search of some food. After scanning the nearby bushes he found what he was looking for, berries. The blue dots in the bush giving them away. He took a few paces forward an knelt down beside the bush and began to pick. There were roughly thirty berries in that he could find, and he walked back to and sat on his log, eating in triumph. As he ate you surveyed his surroundings, looking for anymore hidden baskets of treasure in the trees. He ate his last berry, and wathed as the last visible ray of sun vanished from his sight. Sleep started to grip him again, and he decided it was time to go to bed. He searched the ground nearby his fire for a soft patch, he was sad that this strange fire gave no heat, it would be a cold night for his mere linnens and no covers to keep him warm. After searching for some time, he found a suitable spot. "this will have to do..." he said to himself as he grunted onto the ground. He lay on his back, peering into the night sky, observing as the tops of the trees swished and swerved in the wind. It took no time at all for him to slip soundly into sleep.
Markus was awoken sometime late in the night, the rustle and snapping of a large figure moving carelessly through the forest in his direction. He sat up and peered through the thick blackness of the night. the figure was no more than fifteen meters away, partialy concealed by the trees. He was carrying a large shiny object in his hand, and what looked like a rope in the other. Mark's first thought was to greet this person, but something about the way he walke, the soutness and... barbarism of his form told him this was not a good idea. Deciding to hide, he moved as quickly and silently as he could manage to the roots of a nearby tree, large and tall enough to conceal him entirely if he needed to duck behind them. As he settled into hiding, the new person walked into the camp, his heavy boots clunking on the ground as he walked. Mark got a good look at him, he was carrying a large sword, and what he previously thought was a rope was, as it now seemed, in fact a sling. He wore heavy metal boots and an iron chest plate, with leather pants and undershirt. His helemt was a thick, heavy leather with horns protruding through the top of them. He was a large figure, strong and stout. As the person walked through the camp, he peered through the trees for any sign of its current inhabitant. Markus, scared for his life, ducked as his gaze shifted in his direction. This strange figure certainly looked mean, and very, very capable of destroying him. He peered back over the roots at this person, who was now searching the nearby area for signs of another person. Suddenly, he caught onto something a few meters away, and satrted towards it. Markus looked over at his destination, and a pang
of fear raced through him, his axe! the large man pryed the axe from the log with ease, and tested its weight and feel for a few moments. After he seemed to get the feel of the axe, he wound up and THREW it into the woods, and watched slam into a tree. As it turns out, the tree he threw it into was the trees markus was hiding under. He had to physicly force himself to not yelp out in fear as the axe head was embedded deep into the sturdy tree. After a few moments and a satisfied grin, the large man walked off into the woods, and disapeared from sight after several moments. Markus stayed where he was, in fear that the large man was still around. After laying as still as he could for some time, he reached up to the tree trunck and retrieved his axe, grunting from the effort of removing it from the tree, and then dropped back down. Gripping his axe as tightly as he could in fear, he shrunk back into the depth of the roots, ever alert. He felt scared, and cowered, alert into the later hours of the night. Until the embrace of sleep overtook him, and he lay in the roots until morning.
