Problem with black background, can't move.

No thats cool, thats how it should read, try removing the pause, basically when it's frozen in black check the command line thats open, it may tell you it failed to load some files and thats how we can determine where the problem lies (I guess )

Another thing that MAY help is incresing the ammount of ram your computer gives HnH.

Your run.bat file try this:

start javaw -xms512m -xmx1024m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res

some other alternatives to try might be for 64 bit java/windows:

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

for 32 bit, just change the file path to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"

This is assuming you installed java to your C drive

To explain a little the part of the batch file that says "-Xms256m -Xmx512m" is the part allocating RAM, the first part "Xmx256m" is telling your PC how much it should allocate on start up of the application and "-Xmx512m" is the maximum, I'm pretty sure anyways, feel free for anyone to correct me if they know

Not sure if this will help much, I honestly don't know how to fix your problem but hey it's worth a try. Let me know if anything isn't clear

It may also be worthy to include the auto update in your haven client, you would need to edit your bat file and also put the updater into the haven directory:
batch file should read(roughly):

.\updater\HnH_updater.exe
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se

Everything done, but there is still the same black screen.

Only other things I can suggest would be reinstalling graphic card drivers and or updating them, reinstalling or installing a different version of java, for example if you have 64 bit java, install the 32 bit and try using the 32bit dll's but yeah I'm very sorry I am out of ideas anyone else ???


PS: Try installing Linux, that might resolve your issue.

I have done a lot of things, which were mentioned in that and other forums, including reinstalled graphic and java.

Of course I can install Linux/XP but I don't want to. I don't need to play so much.

I really have no idea where the problem is, coz like I said I had the same problem ~1 year ago, on this computer (Vista, Nvidia, Java, Graphic,...) and I didn't do anything special like install XP or drivers.

Thank's for your ideas. Maybe some1 else can use them to fix their problems.

Nie chce sie bawic w zadne linuxy i inne XPki, bo nie znam sie na komputerach dobrze, a jak juz pisalem, musi dzialac na tym kompie. Wiem, ze zmiana systemu nie jest konieczna.

Yesterday i have made a new hearth fire. For me it seems that the game must load to many items at my land or in the near of anoter claimed area. I build it at a clay area, now i can login without a black background. The Problem with login out at other lands claimed or not claimed is the old situation. Same with enter and leaving a house. so its a litte bit better now and i can play without trying to login for 3-4 hours Maybe it helps you to if you build your fire at another place. If could not login ask a friend to build a new fire with your char.

Thank's for answer. In my case, the problem is bigger, coz I even don't have a character. I'm going to ask my friend to make me one and maybe it helps.
