No, i'm nowhere near to any corrupted area's - maybe it will spell out 'troll' -Seizure wrote:That is weird, it cant be a border or have to do with a cave entrance. The edge would just be an endless line, and a cave entrance would end up being a big square... Not that goofily shaped thing.
Any idea if your near the corrupted areas?

corrupted means there's no data at the server for the tiles at that location thus you can't do anything with them - seems this is the case here

Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
I was wondering if the corruption happened to effect any other places, as this time the effected areas had strange things happen to them that were rather specific.
Maybe PM Loftar about the location, see if he has anything to say or at the very least give him the chance to check the area out. It might give him more insight on what happened, or maybe the corruption might of effected areas he was unaware of.

yeah, i think im experiencing the similar, yours is more obvious than my case though.Amanda44 wrote:the screenshot

the numbers are tile counts by Ender's Land Management feature. (37*49 with the cave entrance as the southeast corner of the square)
id understand i cannot mine A, even though it looks more than 50 tiles radius, but then B, which i painted red (sorry, hard to see?), should be mineable, shouldnt it?
maybe this deserves an independent thread.

Well from the land management dimensions you shouldn't have been able to mine some of what you already have as it was within a 50 tile radius... wierd, was there ore there? Maybe that little strip you can't mine (marked B) doesn't have ore so it won't let you mine it?

well, but i didnt bother counting when my noob miner could mine there with a low q stone axe (didnt even need much str either) and got iron, and built a support without thinking at allAnnaC wrote:Well from the land management dimensions you shouldn't have been able to mine some of what you already have as it was within a 50 tile radius... wierd, was there ore there? where i mined out had loads of ore, like 7-8 pieces each tile (although all q10) and id assume B would have given me ore too if i could mine there.
anyways, i still dont get this "50 tiles" thing, its not radius?

As Anna says, given that you have already mined tiles closer to the entrance within the 50 tile radius, you should have been able to mine B - tbh, it doesn't make any sense. You shouldn't have been able to mine either.

Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
Well if it is then it might be 50x50, like how a banner/statue is (or 49x49, I dunno). Which would encompass some of what you've already mined according to the dimensions you posted about the land management selection.
So perhaps that section "B" doesn't have any ore and is just rock, so that actually triggers the mining restriction?

Unmineable Tiles in Cave
moved the posts from simple questions here as it deserves an own thread not to get lost
about the fifty tiles - afaik it's only the tiles that go inwards from the cave entrance - width unkown atm - while i'm not sure how much tiles are unminable in front of entrance (as in Tonky example) - think i have to look for a similiar situation in my caves to try out ...
Update: after a short test it seems it's a 50x?0 (wide* seems different in each case) in front of the cave entrance which is not minable - which explains your B section Tonky
*needs further investigations
50 tiles inwards unminable cave wall (ignore the width in example)
right click and open in new tab for larger image

width test one direction
right click and open in new tab for larger image
