Re: The size of claim
For the record, this has been largely addressed in Hafen already; and I am moderately interested in fixing it in the current Haven.

Any hints on how much longer to wait for hafen?loftar wrote:For the record, this has been largely addressed in Hafen already; and I am moderately interested in fixing it in the current Haven.

balance with / to what ?!?Qeeet wrote:the point of limiting posibilities with private claim is to balance players who prefer to play alone.
and why not? Weird enough you're one of those that play alone so whytf do you want to limit your fellows?!? Do you think only "bulky" people should have power to have their own property and care about their area?!?Qeeet wrote:I wouldn't like seeing 1 person having 10 alts and each alt possesses 20milion exp claim which cover 5000x5000 size area
I really don't get it what you're up to - the only thing i get is that you feel disturbed in your own small circling on a sunday afternoon ... and coming with crappy arguments: i guess you should do some math again about 10 alts with each having 20 mio LP claims ... besides 5000x5000 would be 250.000.000 LP

Re: The size of claim
ok. I wanted to say. Doing so will cause farming lp much senseless on tons of alts.borka wrote: balance with / to what ?!?
Yeah, you could say it doesn't stop from creating new alts, and seeing hundreds of small claims.
But I say, it will make much harder to manage your 100 alts
lets say I have miswritten. Assume we have 5 villages, in each of them we have 5 real players, each possesses 10 alts. 5x5x10=250 alts in total. Some part of alts are botting. The village starts claim all the world. And it sucks.borka wrote: and why not? Weird enough you're one of those that play alone so whytf do you want to limit your fellows?!? Are you a kid?borka wrote:*shakes head* (prolly you're just jealous)
For me there is nothing to jealous. I have not enough time to live H&H. And it's kinda sad people throwing so much time for farming omg 1600th ua or whatever.
So saying that I see you are endorsing creating tons of alts, aren't you?borka wrote:Leatherballs LOL - with 10 Alts you won't have to worry about Leather overstocks ... 2 Tsacks for each eats a good amount of it ...

have the problems in playing HnH you seem to have. And i know neighbours in my area that play casual and they do well...
Yes i do - while i wasn't planning it, my playstyle, the playstyle of others with given game mechanics and inactivity of those i teamed up in early world somewhat forced me to.Qeeet wrote:So saying that I see you are endorsing creating tons of alts, aren't you?borka wrote:Leatherballs LOL - with 10 Alts you won't have to worry about Leather overstocks ... 2 Tsacks for each eats a good amount of it ...
On the other hand i'm not endorsing or using bot scripts (while i understand why ppl do).
I stopped being a Mod as i felt i wasn't suiting.

ok, man. You simple provoked me. The topic was not about jealousy or etc. And btw I didn't force anybody to do something. The subforum is called Critique&Ideas.borka wrote: yes a 56 yrs old one ... and with lot's of time at hand to play HnH while doing other stuff aswell, that sure is a plus for me but i'm sure even as a casual i wouldn't

The official response has been given though.
How about officially support bots, ascribe tasks to characters, then log out, and they will continue to work until the work is done or death?borka wrote: Yes i do - while i wasn't planning it, my playstyle, the playstyle of others with given game mechanics and inactivity of those i teamed up in early world somewhat forced me to.

Re: The size of claim
Good to hear that it's addressed in Hafen.loftar wrote:For the record, this has been largely addressed in Hafen already; and I am moderately interested in fixing it in the current Haven.
For Haven the problem though is that claims up from a certain size can't be removed anymore: Removing a pclaim over a mountain would need ~55 million auth (~2750 statues), this is ridiculous since in exchange for a single one-second login once every 30 days this claim is basically permanent.
My suggestion for a cheap fix is to change the formular for declaim from something linear to the area of the claim to something linear to the borders, for example instead of auth=tiles*250 to auth=sqr(tiles)*20000 (which boils down to statues needed=sqr(tiles)).
This would make it a somewhat more expensive to remove smaller claims (simply dropping a village and a single banner next to a pclaim would be a thing of the past) but breaks even to the old system at a 80² claim (6400 tiles) and enables villages to in principle (some hundred statues are doable, and have been done in this world) to remove such immense claims.
Comments (not only from Loftar) are welcome...

Re: The size of claim
There are mountains that have been open since day one (often by gentlemen agreements), there have been mountains with claim fragmentation because one tried to claim and others blocked that and there are mountains that are claimed in one piece ( big factions) - to me it's not that claims are the problem but how the "neighbourhood" handles their areas (besides different flaws given by abuse of game mechanics).
Also i guess fully claimed mountains are done by those that have a strong force of manpower thus they "earned" to be able to keep it. I've seen attempts in claiming whole mountains that where shattered very soon because they didn't had the manpower to keep it (or it was just a "funproject").
btw. how many mountains this world are actually claimed fully?

Re: The size of claim
The problem is not the amount of claimed mountains, it is imho related to the besides part.borka wrote:(besides different flaws given by abuse of game mechanics)
Maybe Loftar has a tool to give him some statistics for claims, a nice histogram might shed some light if it really is a widespread problem or if there are just some Einzelfälle.

Re: The size of claim
k got it - mountain as example
sadly "cheap fixes" or "band aids" mostly doesn't punish abusers but the others - good example is Crossroads materials or Housebuilding wait time
on aside note: huge claims cost investment in LP too not just login once a month and those who earn this LP honestly (not with botting or abusing) miss them on their chars development
I'm pretty eager to see how all that is handled in hafen (while from my online gaming experience i'd say abusers sadly always win the race against Devs and fair players)
